So I had a chance to go to Atlanta this weekend. I left Saturday morning and drove about 2.5 hours. I went straight to the temple. It was the first time I have been to the Atlanta temple in some time, other than the recent open house, because it has been closed for remodeling. I decided to participate in sealings. It was a wonderful reminder of the promises and covenants that we make. I love how peaceful it is in the temple and am so grateful for the opportunity to step out of the "world" occasionally.
I got a chance to run by the LDS bookstore. I could spend all day there! But I had other places to be. I visited next with my friend Sarah Owen. She lived in my ward in St. Louis. She is driving long haul rigs all over the country and just happened to be staying in Atlanta for the weekend. We got to have dinner and went to church together Sunday morning. It was a very lively ward. Very friendly and welcoming. After a long nap, we said goodbye and I headed over to another hotel where my Aunt Becky was staying for business. She and I went to dinner and stayed up late talking. It definitely was too short a visit with each of them, but I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with both of them. You would think that I would have taken pictures, but alas... I hate when I do that! I even had the camera with me. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Sounds like it was great!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I could spend all day in the bookstore, too.
